Butterfly is an on-line cloud based software package built to ensure effective collection, monitoring and evaluation of school swimming attendance and attainment, encompassing the National Curriculum KS2 Swimming Assessment Framework.
The Butterfly School Swimming Assessment System has been designed to meet the needs of a live School Swimming environment. Warrington Livewire is an independent Trust serving seventy-three primary schools and provides swimming instruction for over 4,600 pupils.
Accessible via a live website for approved users, the system provides a data collection facility, monitoring of achievement and access to performance reports on an individual school basis, school cluster or in the future, at a regional and national framework.
Butterfly is designed to provide a practical solution for recommendations arising from the Swim England Water Safety Review Group Report (insert link to report) for improving school swimming instruction outcomes. This report concluded that until inspection and reporting methods for school swimming are vastly improved, attainment levels will continue to suffer. “The number of young children at primary school who can swim remains around the 50% mark. This is unacceptable”
Butterfly will provide the solution for accurate collection of data, reporting and direction of finite resources to where they are most needed. Provision of a targeted and accountable School Swimming Lesson Programmes, will enable service providers and schools to ensure best outcomes are achieved and value for money delivered.
